McHenry County Family Council is a networking opportunity to expand the knowledge of resources and support for families experiencing difficulty with their children with emotional and behavioral challenges at home, in school, or in the community.
The Family Council meets the second Wednesday of each month at The McHenry County Mental Health Board, 620 Dakota St, Crystal Lake, IL. Meetings start at 6:00 p.m. with dinner. Child Care is available upon request. Please call Beth at 815-788-4360 for more information.
The Youth Council is a group of young people, between 14 and 24 years of age, living in McHenry County, who have been impacted by mental illness either personally, through family or through friends.
The purpose of the Youth Council is to:
- Develop a diverse group of youth leaders
- Reduce Stigma
- Transform mental health services to engage more youth
- Create a community of peer support and education
